Tutorial Information

Tutorials are meant to complement the technical program of OCEANS’18 MTS/IEEE Kobe / Techno-Ocean 2018 by describing the fundamental elements of a technology and/or rudiments of a subject in a classroom setting. The purpose of tutorials is to expand the attendees’ knowledge of an established technology and emerging areas of technology and research that are clearly relevant to the OCEANS community.

All tutorial sessions will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018, prior to the formal opening of the OCEANS’18 MTS/IEEE Kobe / Techno-Ocean 2018 Conference. An instructor of a session will present tutorial sessions for half day or full day depending on the topic addressed and the tutorial plan made by the instructor. Half day sessions will run three hours and a half including a break for 20 to 30 minutes. Full day sessions will run up to eight hours including times for two breaks and a one-hour recess for lunch. The lunches will be served for the attendees of the full day sessions.

Tutorials are an “add-on” to the main conference registration; however, you may register for a tutorial without registering for the full conference. To do so please proceed to our online Registration system http://kobe18.oceansconference.org/ then select the TUTORIAL ONLY REGISTRATION option when prompted for the registration type. If you are registering as a full conference registrant, you will be able to add individual tutorials during that registration process.

The OCEANS’18 MTS/IEEE Kobe / Techno-Ocean 2018 Technical and Tutorial Chairs finished reviewing the tutorial proposals, and among them, selected the ones that will be held, being listed below. If attendees who will have registered one of the sessions cancelled hope to attend the other one accepted, they can do it, otherwise, they will be paid the attendance fees back.

ATTENTION
Please be aware that the accepted tutorials may be hereafter canceled because of insufficient numbers of attendees or other reasons. Information on the tutorials will be updated in the following table whenever any changes occur. We hope that you occasionally check it.

The tutorials are conducted under the auspices of the International Association of Continuing Education (IACET) and Continuing Education Certificates are issued to attendees who request them.
